NASA's Mars Exploration rover Spirit captured this panoramic image of the Martian surface while perched on a plateau known as “Home Plate.” The image captures a scene (left to right) from southwest to northeast. Place your cursor over the image to scroll through the entire scene and check for evidence of life. Also check out “Tsiolkovski Ridge,” a rock-dotted hill on the left half of the image, about 100 feet from Home Plate. Above the left edge of Tsiolkovski Ridge is “Grissom Hill,” which is about five miles from Home Plate. “Husband Hill” is the highest point on the horizon and half a mile from the plateau.
