Reporting the One Laptop per Child story in Peru required complex logistics: I had to gain permission to visit a village school on a certain day, line up travel and interview schedules with a video crew and freelance photographer in Lima , and rent a four-wheel-drive car for the 3.5-hour trip to the village. Here, videographer Manuel Santillan (right) and his assistant, Oscar Ricci Saro (left), and I (David Talbot, center) interview children in the primary school in the village of Arahuay. Our visit coincided with the first day of school, March 10.
